This year I am using the following, which I found from a fellow blogger. If you click on the image you can read the story behind the idea.
The idea is to write out the scripture every day. It is to help memorize and really contemplate what God is saying. I love it!
I know I can easily copy and paste the Scripture from the web, but I am going to open my Bible each day and type out the Scripture as a blog post. Some days it might just be the verse, other days I may add some thoughts about what I am thankful for in regards to the verse. I am thankful everyday, but I love the idea of dedicating a month to really meditate on all the blessings we have been given by God!
Day 1 – Psalm 95:1 -7
“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.”
I love this passage and as I began typing, I immediately recognized that is was a passage we had put to music and used in our liturgy. It was neat to sing it in my head as I wrote it out!
Our God is creator of all and I love the rich language used to describe all that he has made!
