“I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriches in every way – in all your speaking and in all your knowledge – because our testimony about Christ was not confirmed in you. Therefore you do no lack any spiritual gift as your eagerly wait for our Lord jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. – 1 Corinthians 1:4-9
Even though it has been 15 years, the celebration of All Saints Day (yesterday) and the anniversary of my maternal grandfather’s death (today) are still emotional for me. I see this passage from 1 Corinthians and imagine that Paul is speaking to each one of us. I imagine it’s a passage that my grandpa lived by and one that I strive to in my own life. God keeps us strong in this life, no matter what we endure. He is faithful to us and with us in this life and the next.
