I love receiving Christmas cards this time of year. This one caused me to pause. (The picture does not do it justice because you can’t see the sparkles).
This was a good one too.
Peace is a sought after feeling year round, but it seems to be needed even greater at this time of year, especially with all the fear and uncertainty caused by many unsettling events in recent months.
We so often search in all the wrong places, desperately seeking peace, which will calm our hearts and our minds. We search for peace that will quiet the chaos of the holidays. We search for peace that will fill the gaps loved ones gone, have left behind.
It’s interesting to me how peace is paired up with snow in both of these cards. But it is true: there is nothing like the calm that comes with the first snow. There is nothing like the peace that comes from the LORD.
As we count on one hand, the days until Christmas I leave you with His words, which are the only ones who can bring us fulfilling peace. Praise the God who gave us His peace through his son, born of the flesh, Jesus.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7
