The weekend is a good time to reflect on the week behind you.
During the month of October, I’ve started the practice of writing down things I am grateful for before I go to bed. It’s a routine I’ve done before and I love doing it at bedtime because I can think about my day and go to bed at peace. What I’ve noticed is that I also wake up feeling more calm and ready for a new day. This has been helpful in providing some stability and lower my anxiety levels on a regular basis.
I started looking back at the last two weeks of blessings that I wrote down, and as I scanned the list, I noticed many things that were encouraging and providing hope.
- Quiet, productive mornings
- Planning ahead
- Going for a run
- Coffee w/ a friend
- Feeling more confident
- New friendships
- Date night
Today I am thankful for the opportunity to reflect on things for which I am thankful because that provides hope that I will be able to see new things each day which God has provided to me.
