In this #Write31days challenge I have been trying to follow a few other bloggers and the topics they are interested in writing about. It’s a commitment of time to write & read others, but I want to honor fellow writers who are putting in the effort. I’ve actually really enjoy the few blogs I have come across.
31 Days to Live with Less proposes tackling one area of your house for each day of the month. I love the idea behind it and with a move coming up for us in November, the timing is perfect.
When I initially read the blog, it seemed a bit overwhelming, but the plan is for me to follow this model as I clean and hopefully begin packing in the next few weeks! The writer of this blog did an excellent job of breaking down the pieces of the puzzle to make doable actions to take in tackling all the clutter! I don’t know anyone who really loves to pack, but I do love getting rid of things I never use. It is freeing to let go of stuff that is no longer useful to me, but may help someone else.
Thankfully we are literally moving across the parking lot and won’t even need a truck, but a move is a move. Packing still has to happen in some form and it’s always amazing to me to see how much stuff can be accumulated in so little time.
Not only do I want to de-clutter to move, but I really want to live with less and give to someone else something that I no longer need. The irony of posting this today is that I am about to hit up our church’s Fall Bazaar and Junktique for some thrift shopping! I’ve been telling my husband to not buy anything, because that means we have to pack it, but a good find might still be worth it! De-cluttering and consuming really is a balance!
