Life: Four simple letters make for a powerful word and the meaning behind it.
I have been going back and forth about whether or not to speak on the most recent news of the woman, who was just mere weeks from her 30th birthday (just two days before mine), who was dying and chose a date to end her suffering. There is so much to digest and I am rarely one to speak on something I haven’t experienced myself. So, because I know expressing my thoughts won’t really accomplish what I would like to, instead what keeps popping into my mind is this Scripture verse:
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
I have not experienced suffering in my health and I am thankful for that. But we all experience situations in life where we are left feeling weak and helpless. As difficult as it is to face situations like this, God desires for us to turn to him so that we rely on his strength, through the power of Christ. It’s powerful imagery, but it’s also what gives us hope now and into eternity.
