3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” – 1 Peter 1:3-5
I came across this passage as I was looking for more ways to write about hope. What struck me is that while hope is a concept, it is made to be a living, breathing thing through Jesus.
Hope came down to this earth through the person of Jesus.
Hope taught people about the unconditional love of God through Jesus.
Hope went to the cross to die for our sins.
Hope had mercy on us through the promise of God.
Hope became an eternal promise through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Today I am alive because of Jesus. Today I have hope because my Savior died for me. Today I have a living hope because Jesus rose from the dead and gives me eternal life with Him.
