Think of something you accomplished and think about how you felt about it before you started. You had no desire to do it or a lack of motivation.
Afterwards you felt great and wondered why you had so much trouble in the first place!
This is the relationship I have with morning runs.
I dread it when I first wake up, all tired, but the moment my feet hit the pavement, I am so glad I did it!
I have said it before and I will say it again, “I never regret a morning run!”
I have always agreed that I feel better when exercise is a regular part of my routine, but it’s even better when it’s the first thing I do to start my day! I can thank my husband for being a great running and accountability partner! When we run together, it’s that much more fulfilling!
It gives me more energy (especially if I didn’t get my 8 hours of sleep the night before), helps me stay motivated and keeps my brain alert! Plus, it feels great to be physically fit!
Not counting when I initially wake up, I am more often a morning person. It usually only takes me a few minutes to “wake up” once I am out of bed and then I absolutely love the morning.
It’s great to run at a time when most people are still sleeping, or in their homes, quietly getting ready for the day. It’s so peaceful.
What is that activity (doesn’t have to be exercise), that you dread, but glad you did? Could be a one time event or something in your routine. Or, what something you want to try? Please share in the comments!
