Unexpected Blessings – A BIG one!

It’s so funny how God works through our thoughts!

Just this morning I was thinking that I needed to write this post so I could be ready to press the “Publish” button when it was time. I’ve been pretty anxious/excited recently, and you will understand why as you keep reading!

It has been awhile since I have blogged about an unexpected blessing, but this is a pretty big one that I am very excited to share!

It’s been just over a year since I was asked to write a book. It was an unexpected request, but one that I had been longing to pursue for quite some time. Many friends had asked if I would publish a book of devotions I had written and collected over the years (that one is still in the dreaming stages).

Instead, this was the opportunity to write something new and fresh, and the whole process was a bit of whirlwind! And, I am not joking about that last part, I spent one month writing the book, and since last spring, I have been waiting for the book to be officially published and available!

The book I was asked to write is for graduates (it works for both high school and college audiences). When I started the process, I wanted to put something together that would be useful and give those who live with/minister to/mentor young adults, a tool that would benefit their spiritual growth.

Stay tuned, as I’ve asked a friend to write a book review, so that you can pass it on with the best knowledge of what it has to offer.

Through all of this, I have been so thankful for the opportunity to use my gift of writing in this way. I write for my personal expression first and foremost, but when I have been given the opportunity to minister to a group of people through articles, essays, devotions, etc….it’s actually hard to put into words the overwhelming joy of the Lord that it brings to my heart.

Thanks to all who have been a part of and supportive of my personal writing journey. I look forward to continuing to connect to family, friends and fellow writers as we live out the callings we have been given and continue to share our stories.
